Fast and Furious ( Birth of Emma Lee)

Fast and Furious
(Birth story of Emma Lee)

Notice how I don't have a hospital grown on? That's cause there was no time.

I went into labor at 6:30 in the morning on April 29th, 2010. I woke up with cramps and just laid there for a little while to see if this was the real deal. Lily woke up and cuddled with me. At about 7:00, I went and woke up Kris letting him know I was in labor. Then I called my mom who was coming to watch Lily for us. The contractions were mild at first but quickly picked up with in a hour. I was getting very anxious waiting to leave. My mom was coming from Yelm, an hour away. The contractions were getting very intense. I was almost going to leave to the hospital and have my mom meet us there, when she finally showed up at almost 9:00.  I kissed Lily good bye and we rushed out to the car.  Emma was coming and I didn't want to have her in the car. In hindsight, I don't think it would have been so bad, considering the hospital experience I had with her birth.

Anyways, I was ready to push in the car, but kept that knowledge to my self, afraid to freak out Kris. We arrived at the hospital 15 minuets later and I could barely walk to the entrance. Once inside, all I had to say was that I was in labor, and they could all plainly see I was very near to having the baby. They rushed me right back to labor and delivery. A nurse handed me a grown to change into and I went into the bathroom, but only got my pants off when another contraction came and someone rushed in to say, "Don't push"! It sounds like you are pushing," then they rushed me onto the bed. All the staff there seemed very frazzled, like they had never seen a baby coming so fast. Which could have been the case, since it is such a small hospital, but I didn't really want freaked out nurses and doctors working on me.  I was laying on my side where I felt the most comfortable and they made me turn on my back, told me to wait for the doctor, and not to push. But she was coming whether anyone wanted her to or not.

I was screaming and wanted to reach down and pull her out myself. My you-know-what hurt like nothing else! The doctor barely got there to catch her as she came out, yet soon enough to cut me (episiotomy), I'm pretty sure with no numbing. Emma arrived at 9:36 am They took her over to check her out immediately after she was out. I didn't get that skin to skin like I did with Lily. But Emma was perfectly fine in every way. My biggest baby at 7 lbs. 12oz. She was wiped out just as much as I was from the birth, and after the initial screaming once out of me, she just wanted to sleep and sleep. Meanwhile the doctor was trying to sew me up without me being completely numb and I was not happy. I said I could feel that, and was in a lot of pain. I really do think it must of been her first time dealing with this kind of birth, 'cause she seemed very upset.  My body hurt so bad all over, afterward. I had a great sleeping newborn but didn't get any sleep myself. I was still happy to have my second baby girl by my side instead of inside me.

Loving this house!

I could just cry every day. Happy tears, that is, for the blessings God has given us. For this wonderful, beautiful, big house!

I am absolutely loving every second of being here! I love everything about this new house. I love the entry way with the big closet. I love the storage in the kitchen and the dish washer in it! I love the pantry. I love the living room and the floors we put in.  I love having 2 bathrooms. I love the bath and so do the girls! I love having 3 bedrooms. I love my master bedroom with the walk in closet! I love the look and the feel of this house. I am loving the location as well, so far.

I have been super busy getting the house put together, and other projects I am doing to make this house look nice. One thing I really love is that when there is a mess, it isn't such a HUGE overwhelming mess that takes over the whole house! Three girls' stuff spread out over two rooms is great! Did I mention the dish washer?! Oh my feet!!  My whole world has changed! My house is staying clean!

I can't wait to have dinner parties and play dates. Hopefully soon we well get the garage all put together and transformed into the gym. Even with it being a mess right now I still love having it!

We are also ready to jump in with both feet to making our neighborhood a better place. Kris went to the Home Owners Association meeting and found out what it's all about. He said the people seemed very nice. I think we well like it here just fine!

Pslam 8

O Lord our Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens the work of your fingers the moon and the starts, which you have set in place what is  man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him in glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands, you put everythjing under his feet:
all flocks and herds and the beasts of the field the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth!

More than just buying a house.

I can't believe we are here!

I never thought this day would come. I had given up before we ever started looking for a house. We started this journey more than 2 years ago. We thought we wouldn't be able to stay in Kris' uncle's house anymore because of other circumstances.  We put in our application for a loan in January of 2012.  We didn't hear anything back for months. The circumstances got worked out so it wasn't necessary for us to have to move anymore. So we had gotten ourselves comfortable with the idea of just staying put and making his house work. Then at the end of May 2012 we finally got a letter saying we were approved for a 0% down loan. My husband called and told me. I had to think for a moment. I had just gotten content with staying where we were. We had just put in a small garden with plans for more. Kris had build a chicken coop in the back yard and we had 8 chickens. Did we really want to buy a house after all? My husband did. I was wondering, why does it always seem to happen that when I get content with an idea, God throws something else in? I went along with my husband and we started looking at houses online.

Lets fast forward a year and several houses later. We found a house that we really liked and had seemed was going to work out. We put an offer in in November of 2013. Again after several months, disappointments, and hair pulling out stress, I had finally got my heart content that it might just never happen. That we could still make his uncle's house work. We didn't hate living there. All the land was nice to live on. We didn't need a bigger house to be happy or to live well.  But we still prayed that we would get this house. Prayed that God's will be done, and that if we were supposed to get this house it would all work out. It finally has! After 5 months of waiting, waiting, and more waiting it has happened. This is the day of signing and I have been like a child at Christmas time. It is more than just buying a house. It means a more comfortable space for us to all live in. It means being organized.  It means getting to have company over!  It means having a place for my gymnastics equipment so it can be used and not sitting in a shed gathering dust and mold. It means a second bathroom! I have never had my own bathroom. I grew up with two sisters and we all shared a bathroom and bedroom over the years. It means 3 bedrooms so maybe I can get Kate to go to sleep and stay asleep better, because we won't have to worry about her waking up her sisters.  It means living closer to everything and everyone in town. While I have always lived a ways out of town it will be nice to not have such a long dive into town and back home. It means no more muddy feet on the way to the car. It means I can have a clean car for more than 2 days after I wash it. It means I won't be stuck in my drive way when there is only an inch of snow on the ground. It means a more manageable yard. While all the land was nice and has it's benefits it is a lot of work to keep up on with 3 little kids and a husband that works full time. See, buying this house means so much more than owning our own home, or any status symbol, it is so much more.

not different than this? Surfer Girl - I wish I could surf...and have a body like that.lol

I was talking to a friend today about breastfeeding in public and she brought up a good point. She used to live in China and they are pretty modest there and they will even allow the woman to nurse without a cover. And in the middle east where they are covered from head to toe the woman are allowed to nurse without a cover. So what is up with Americans? What to see more historical breastfeeding photos go here.

Words

WORDS

So I was just thinking how I wish I could forget the words people have said to me to make me feel bad about myself, to make me feel stupid. When really it was them who was the problem. Just words right? Words have such power. I was also thinking that these bad memories are not any from my parents. I was even spanked as a kid. Gasp! But I have no resentment or hatred towards them. Whether you want to spank your kids or not, I don't care. My point is, it did no damage to me. That is just my experience.

Anyways back to words. Words have so many meanings. My husband could probably tell you 10 meanings for one word you have never even heard of. Okay I'm exaggerating a little. Just a little.
Words can break us or make us. So I tell my girls they are pretty and I love them every day. And especially if they are in a bad mood or get in trouble. Words we tell ourselves can hurt us or make us feel better. God's words were given to us to help us.

A friend of mine posted a video of  the Today show about just having one word you focus on the whole year; a positive word, something to work towards. My first thought was, "I don't know. How am I going to come up with one word?" I didn't have to think long before it sort of just came to me. Then I watched the video and liked the idea even more. Here for the video. My word is Happy. I just want to be happy with what ever life throws me. I want to wake up happy to be alive, happy for another day.  I want others to see that I am happy because I think happiness is contagious. I want to make others happy. When my friends and family are happy it makes me happy. I feel very deep. By that I mean that I take on the emotions of other people I care about. I feel like I can feel what they are feeling. Maybe because I have been through a lot myself. Or that's just how I was made. I want to spread good cheer

So just remember, when your about to say something to yourself or others, it might effect them for the rest of their lives, for the better or worse.
